Secretary Haaland Visits Federal Project Sites in New Mexico

Wraps up a month-long tour of federal investment projects in progress.

Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland visited three projects in New Mexico that received federal funding to improve public lands for the ecosystem and the public.

She first toured the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, where the premiere birdwatching site is building a new visitor center and headquarters with greater energy efficiency. Then she went to the Socorro Nature Area, where their management is working to repair their deteriorated facilities. She finished her New Mexico visit at the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge, which has partnered with the University of New Mexico to research water management during extreme drought.

These visits are the last in a month-long tour of the country, during which Interior Department leaders visited places throughout the nation that are using federal investments to improve America’s public lands.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Haaland as she reviews progress on preservation and conservation projects.
  • For Interior Department personnel as they seek to steward U.S. public lands.
  • For Native American leaders as they collaborate on the management of infrastructure and ecosystems.
